Fun with Bulletin Boards

I am so excited to be linking up with Ashley and Angie this month for their #2getherwearebetter link up.  I love these two incredibly talented teachers!

I love seeing all the back-to-school posts in my social media feed this time of year.  I look forward to  the great ideas that so many of my teacher friends post.  I was so ready to have bulletin boards galore to share with you today; however, life happened.  Monday of this week, I took a job at another school.  I have Open House TODAY!  Well as you can imagine, I am not quite finished with my room.  It is presentable and will do for the start of school...but not at all complete!

Here is the bulletin board that is right outside my classroom door.  My theme is western - The Kennedy Korral.  I created this bunting and it is available for free in my TeachersPayTeachers store - The Kennedy Korral.  If you download the resource, please leave some loving feedback; and while you are at my store, please consider clicking the green star to follow me.

WHAT TO DO WITH METAL PARTITIONS?

In my classroom, I have an entire wall that is a metal partition.  When the air conditioning is turned off at 5:00 pm the humidity causes the paper to come down.  To help with this problem, I use duct tape and magnets.  The magnets need to have a high magnetic strength in order to keep the paper on the wall.

On this wall I am creating a word wall.  The word wall letters are printed on flexible magnetic sheets which I cut out.  I could have printed the letters on paper and taped them onto the bulletin board paper; but having them magnetized helps keep the paper from being damaged and allows the word wall to be more easily interactive.

I created these ten-frames and over-the-board ABCs in a number of different styles.  If you don't see what you like in my store that fits your needs, let me know and I'll try and make something for you.

My classroom is a work in progress.  Next month come back for the big reveal!
